It’s just 3 days away to ONE: Enter the Dragon, taking place at the Singapore Indoor Stadium on 17 May. The sensational card boasts one of the most star-studded lineup in kickboxing history, who will come together in the first round of the ONE Featherweight Kickboxing World Grand Prix.
Eight kickboxing superstars will clash for a place in the semi-finals that will take place on another date. In the running for the prestigious title are Giorgio Petrosyan, Yodsanklai Fairtex, Enriko Kehl, Dzhabar Askerov, Petmorakot Petchyindee Academy, Samy Sana, Jo Nattawut and Sasha Moisha. A card that is the stuff of wet dreams for Muay Thai and kickboxing fans everywhere.
Originally, K1-Max legend, Andy Souwer was to compete against Jo Nattawut but had pulled out this week. No official statement was given from the fighter or ONE Championship, and one would assume that it is due to injury. Ukrainian fighter, Sasha Moisha has down stepped in on one week’s notice to replace Souwer for a shot at ultimate stardom. Fighting out of Bangkok’s Behzad Warrior Academy, Moisha is a WMC Muay Thai world champion with a record of 39 wins and 7 losses.
Many fans are looking forward to a final faceoff between Giorgio Petrosyan and Yodsanklai Fairtex in what could be the fight of the decade. Both fighters are the current hot favorites but none of their fellow contestants are walkovers – each of them a world champion and legend in their own right. With a cash prize of 1 million US dollars awaiting the winner, there is a lot at stake for the competitors. This is expected to be a total bloodshed.
ONE: Enter the Dragon will also feature the co-main event starring Dutch super middleweight kickboxer, Nieky Holzken in his quest for the ONE Lightweight Kickboxing World Championship title against Regian Ersel.
This is definitely one not to be missed for fight fans anywhere in the world. The prelims (undercard) will be broadcasted on ONE Championship’s Facebook page. For the main broadcast, check ONE website for more details.
