Thousands of local and foreign fans showed up at the home of the Royal King’s Guard 2nd Cavalry Division for what is the biggest All Star Fight event to date. The inaugural World Soldier marked the promotion’s first collaboration with the Royal Thai Army, and was broadcasted live on Channel 3 and Fox Sports.

Global fighting icon, Buakaw Banchamek headlined the exciting card that featured 8 bouts with elite contenders from Thailand and abroad.

After 4 sizzling match ups, Superbank took on the towering Igor Liubchenko to kick off the live broadcast. It was a “head-to-chest” clash with the Ukranian standing 20cm taller, and who took full advantage of his reach. Superbank’s 200-fight experience showed, taking Liubchenko onto the canvas via a series of takedowns through the 3 rounds. It was no surprise when the Thai was awarded the win via the judges’ scorecard.

Yodwicha’s debut for the Banchamek team was not the walkover that many had predicted. Despite relentless pressure from the Thai star, Ruiz Renozo fought back from 2 knockdowns and went to war in the clear contender for “fight of the night”. Yodwicha got rocked by a strong right hook but bounced back from the knockdown, returning the favor and clinching the decisive victory.

In the main event, Buakaw took on Artem Pashporin in an anticipated rematch following their 2015 clash. Nothing was left in the bag for both fighters from the get-go, and every weapon of Muay Thai was utilized to full effect. It was a headliner that lived up to all expectations, going the full distance and leaving the crowds at the edge of their seats. Buakaw took home the win with an unanimous decision to the approving roar of the spectators.

Superbon concluded the night on a high note in the only knockout of the show. Merely a minute into the first round, the kickboxing sensation delivered a rib-piercing knee that left Passos wincing on the canvas (above). The Portuguese got up on his feet before the end of an 8-count but Superbon left nothing to chance. Passos was swiftly pressured into the corner and a flurry of body shots sealed the deal to score the KO victory for Superbon.
